How To Get The Best Results When Using A Blackhead Removal Tool

By Patty Goff

People can actually exacerbate their acne by simply using their hands to remove blackheads and other blemishes. When you put your finger on your face, you are often transferring more of the bacteria that cause breakouts onto your skin. Pushing and popping pimples can also leave scars. This makes it vital to have a quality blackhead removal tool on hand.

Leaving blackheads right where they are is not a good idea. With time, these blemishes can cause lasting damages to the pores and deep and pitted scarring. These types of scars are far less receptive to nearly all scar removal methods.

A blackhead remover can apply just the right amount of pressure for forcing these hard, compact structures out of their nesting spots. You do not have to worry about getting red fingernail marks from pushing and squeezing on the targeted area. Removing blemishes like these in the proper fashion will also make it easier for the dermis to complete the natural healing process.

There are a few things that you will need to do, however, in order to make sure that you get superior results. You should always try to open your pores up a bit. This is accomplished through application of heat such as by placing a warm compress or towel on your face or taking a hot shower or bath. This helps to loosen the hardened materials that have become trapped in your pores.

You also want to make sure that you have cleansed your face after these efforts. You can wash your skin like you normally do and you should use an appropriate moisturizer after having rinsed your dermis. Apply a toner with astringent properties will help to limit bacteria on the surface of the skin, thereby preventing new or recurring breakouts.

You should make a diligent effort to avoid overusing these tools. You might want to do this as part of your daily cleaning regimen, but this is a lot of abuse to subject your skin to each day. This is something that you should do about once each week. This allows the skin to repair itself before new pressure is applied.

People should also avoid pressing too hard on their blemishes. While these tools can be very effective without causing a lot of skin damage, this does not mean that they are capable of removing all blackheads, all of the time. It may take a while to gently coax blackheads closer to the surface of the dermis so that less pressure is needed to remove them.

One of the best ways to enhance the efficacy of these devices is by using them in conjunction with pore strips. These are small strips that are lightly dampened and then applied to the face. They draw blackheads and other trapped debris close to the surface of the skin and right out of the pore. Using these treatments before applying your removal tool could produce optimal results. It will also minimize the likelihood of causing skin damages by limiting the amount of pressure that must be applied in order to successfully remove one of the stubborn blemishes.
