You may remember your mother telling you to eat your vegetables. If you do, it is likely that she also told you that they were good for your health. What she probably didn't say was that eating crunchy produce would help to keep your teeth healthy, as well. That's right, eating raw produce like celery, carrots, apples and pears has natural teeth whitening benefits.

When eating fresh, fruits and vegetables act as natural abrasives that help remove stains and polish teeth. That makes them excellent natural teeth whitening elements to add to any diet. They also encourage the production of saliva, which is nature's way of protecting teeth and washing away bacteria that causes cavities.

Natural Teeth Whitening With Baking Soda

The average person these days has heard about the benefits of baking soda for natural teeth whitening. When you mix it with lemon juice to make a paste, it only takes a minute to remove stains. It is important though, that you realize that it can damage tooth enamel when used too often. Once a week should do.

Water For Natural Teeth Whitening

You may not realize it, but just by drinking water right after drinking dark liquids like coffee or cola or directly after eating, you can rinse particles that cause stains off your teeth before they can cause stains. Just swish and swallow and you are done. At least, you are done until you can brush your teeth.

Natural Teeth Whitening With Berries

Everyone knows that blue berries can leave stains in the mouth, but we are not suggesting that one should brush their teeth with these berries. There are some berries though, that work for natural teeth whitening. Strawberries are the ones we are talking about. Crushing strawberries into a pulp and brushing them on the teeth then leaving them for five minutes before rinsing away will leave you with whiter teeth.

If natural teeth whitening is not something you want to engage in, you can still get whiter, healthier teeth by flossing and brushing every day. Do this twice a day at least and you will be reducing the chance of getting cavities and gum disease. It is also a great way to prevent heart disease and stroke.
